Ride Into Health
Hello I'm Regina Staples, a horse crazed child of non horsey parents, who finally wore them down and they agreed to taking me for riding lessons. I began my early riding career in the hunter jumper divisions. Little did they know this was just the start of a lifelong passion and a journey that has brought me to be able to share the work I have experienced with you today.
I was so fortunate to ride all sorts of horses as a child & young adult; young, old, naughty and some recovering from injury. So many personalities and some with difficult histories as well. Then I got my dream job, I was the main rider at a beautiful sale barn, riding and training young horses to jump and go of to the hunter and jumper rings. I had love and compassion for each one of them.
Then I had a fall, an injury that would potentially take me away from riding all together. It was suggested that I no longer ride and I find a new career, I tried that for a year and that was enough! So I turned my compass, personally becoming a student of classical dressage, continuing to ride and becoming an instructor, studying numerous methods of body awareness.
Body awareness & biomechanics of the horse and rider became a passion in itself for me. Such an exciting avenue to put into practice every ride for myself and incorporating it into every lesson for my students. To have an understanding of how our bodies can move better to ride, rather than holding a position because it "looks good" or "that's what it is supposed to look like", but not functional, was critical for me in the body I have now after the injury, to be able to continue riding. The benefit of this is felt regardless if you have an injury that haunts you or not. We desire that feeling of connection and harmony, when both horse and rider are in dynamic balance and on the same page, in the moment - priceless.
For decades now I have also had students come to me with horses that they were contemplating giving up on or where stuck in some way, only to find that by changing some patterns in their bodies and with the exercises I introduced, they had horses that wanted to go to work, that they could enjoy and learn with.
Classical training for every horse no matter the discipline, is beneficial to there well-being, to teach them how to use their body to carry us is critical to their soundness.

"The hardest stop with any chronic pain management such as CRP(chronic regional pain) or fibromyalgia is to begin the difficult path of exercising through the pain. I would strongly suggest to anyone that they contact Regina to see how her Ride into Health program, could help you to manage your pain and begin a relationship with your horse again."
Glynda & Chief
"Regina's Ride Into Health teaching method, has developed my understanding of horse movement and rider connection more than she could imagine. This learning process has been key to establishing correct and comfortable movement for both me and my horse. My posture is so much better, my hips so much looser, and my horse is so much more willing, free moving, happy and energized."
James & Elli
"What I learned on the 2-day course and in the subsequent virtual sessions was instantly useful to me, and would I believe be useful to a rider at any level or in any discipline of horsemanship. What has always been crucial to me as an older rider, and I’m now 71, is improving my seat. Without that, I don’t think I will be able to continue riding throughout my 70s and hopefully beyond."
